Wellness checks that catch problems early

Pets are experts at hiding illness. A regular wellness examination gives us a baseline for your pet and finds small changes long before they become serious, expensive problems.

When to come in

  • Once a year for healthy adult dogs and cats
  • Every six months for pets aged seven and over
  • Soon after adopting a new pet, whatever their age
  • When you simply feel something is a little different

What it covers

Full examination

Weight and body condition, heart and lungs, eyes, ears, mouth and teeth, skin and coat, joints, abdomen and lymph nodes.

Prevention plan

Vaccinations, parasite control, nutrition and dental care reviewed together, with screening blood and urine tests recommended where they add value.

Signs worth mentioning

Small changes often matter most: drinking more water, gaining or losing weight, sleeping more, bad breath, slower on walks, or hiding more than usual. Note anything you have spotted and we will look into it.

What to expect

We take time to ask about your pet’s daily routine, then complete a calm, thorough examination. You leave with a written summary of what we found, what we recommend and when we would like to see your pet again.

Our approach

Preventive care is the foundation of everything we do. Results from each visit are kept on record, so we can compare year on year and spot trends a single visit would miss.

Frequently asked questions

My pet seems healthy. Do they still need a check-up?

Yes. Many conditions, including dental disease, kidney changes and heart murmurs, cause no obvious signs at first. Finding them early usually means simpler and more successful treatment.

Do you recommend blood tests at every visit?

Not always. We recommend screening tests based on age, breed and history. For senior pets, yearly blood work is a valuable baseline.

How long does a wellness check take?

Allow around 30 minutes so there is time for questions.
