Pet dental care in Abu Dhabi

Dental disease is one of the most common problems we see and one of the most underestimated. Left untreated, it causes chronic pain, tooth loss and infection that can affect the heart, kidneys and liver.

When to come in

  • Bad breath that does not go away
  • Yellow or brown build-up on the teeth, or red gums
  • Chewing on one side, dropping food or pawing at the mouth
  • Drooling, a broken tooth or swelling on the face

What pet dental care covers

Dental assessment

An awake examination of teeth and gums to grade dental disease and plan the right treatment.

Dental procedure

Scaling and polishing under general anaesthesia, a full mouth check, dental X-rays where needed and treatment or extraction of painful teeth.

What to expect

Before a dental procedure we check your pet’s overall health, often with a pre-anaesthetic blood test. On the day, your pet is monitored closely throughout anaesthesia and kept warm and comfortable during recovery. Most pets go home the same day.

We call you during the day with an update and talk you through what we found, with photos where helpful, and how to care for the mouth at home.

Our approach

A proper dental clean cannot be done on an awake pet: it misses the disease below the gumline where most of the damage happens. We treat dental care as real medicine, with safe anaesthesia, careful monitoring and a home care plan to keep teeth healthy afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Is anaesthesia safe for my pet’s teeth cleaning?

For a healthy pet, modern anaesthesia with careful monitoring carries a low risk. We assess every patient beforehand and tailor the plan, especially for older pets.

How often does my pet need a dental clean?

It varies. Some pets need one every year, others less often. Your vet will advise at each wellness check.

What can I do at home?

Daily tooth brushing with pet toothpaste is the gold standard. Dental diets and chews can help. We will show you how to start.
