Soft Tissue Surgery

Soft tissue surgery with careful aftercare

From lump removals and wound repairs to abdominal procedures, our surgical team combines careful planning, safe anaesthesia and attentive recovery care in our fully equipped theatre.

When it may be needed

  • Lumps and masses that need removing or testing
  • Wounds, bite injuries and lacerations
  • Foreign bodies swallowed by curious pets
  • Bladder stones and some abdominal conditions
  • Eyelid, ear and skin procedures

What it covers

Soft tissue surgery covers procedures on the skin, muscles and internal organs, rather than bones and joints. Every procedure includes a pre-operative assessment, anaesthesia and pain relief tailored to your pet, continuous monitoring, and a written recovery plan.

What to expect

Before surgery we examine your pet, run any tests needed to make anaesthesia as safe as possible and explain the plan and its costs. On the day, a dedicated nurse monitors your pet from induction to recovery, and the surgeon calls you once the procedure is complete.

You go home with clear instructions on medication, wound care, activity and feeding, plus a check-up appointment.

Our approach

Surgery is only one part of a good outcome. We put as much care into pain control, warmth and calm handling during recovery as we do into the procedure itself, and we stay in touch until your pet is fully healed.

Frequently asked questions

Will my pet need to stay overnight?

Most soft tissue procedures are day cases. Larger surgeries may need a short hospital stay, which we will discuss beforehand.

Do you send lumps for testing?

Yes. Where appropriate, removed tissue is sent to a pathology laboratory so we know exactly what it was and whether further treatment is needed.

How should I prepare my pet?

Usually no food from the night before, with water allowed until the morning. We will give you specific instructions when we book.
