PCR Testing & Diagnostics
In-house laboratory and PCR testing
Fast, accurate results change how quickly we can help. Our in-house laboratory runs blood, urine and infectious disease tests on site, often while you wait, with PCR testing to pinpoint specific infections.

When testing helps
- Before anaesthesia or surgery, to check organ function
- When your pet is unwell and the cause is not clear
- Suspected infectious disease such as parvovirus or feline viral infections
- Routine screening for senior pets
- Monitoring long-term medication or chronic conditions
What it covers
In-house laboratory
Complete blood count, biochemistry, electrolytes, urinalysis and rapid infectious disease tests, with many results available during the same visit.
PCR testing
Highly sensitive tests that detect the genetic material of specific viruses, bacteria or parasites, helping us confirm a diagnosis and choose targeted treatment.
What to expect
Most samples take only a few minutes to collect, using gentle handling and treats. Your vet explains the results in plain language and what they mean for treatment. Where specialised tests are needed, we work with accredited reference laboratories.
Our approach
We only recommend tests that will change what we do for your pet, and we always tell you why each one matters and what it costs before going ahead.
Frequently asked questions
How quickly will I get results?
Many in-house blood and rapid tests are ready within the visit. PCR and specialist laboratory tests usually take one to a few working days.
Does my pet need to fast before a blood test?
For some tests, a few hours without food gives more accurate results. We will tell you when you book.
Why test a pet that seems healthy?
Screening tests give a baseline and can reveal early kidney, liver or thyroid changes before signs appear.
