Veterinary consultations with time to talk

When something is not right, you need a vet who listens, examines carefully and explains clearly. Our consultations are unhurried so we can get to the real cause, not just the symptom.

When to come in

  • Vomiting, diarrhoea or a change in appetite or thirst
  • Limping, stiffness or reluctance to jump or play
  • Itching, ear scratching, lumps or skin changes
  • Coughing, sneezing or changes in breathing
  • Any change in behaviour, energy or toileting that worries you

What it covers

A consultation includes a full nose-to-tail examination, a detailed history and a clear discussion of what we find. Where tests are needed, such as blood work, X-ray or ultrasound, we explain why, what each will tell us and what it costs before we go ahead.

What to expect

We start by listening. You know your pet better than anyone, and the details you have noticed at home are often the key to a diagnosis. Then we examine your pet gently, talk you through our findings and agree a plan together.

You leave with a written summary, any medication explained step by step, and a clear point of contact if things change.

Our approach

Good medicine takes time. We schedule consultations so the vet is not rushing, and we would rather ask one more question than miss something important. If your pet is anxious, tell us when you book and we will plan a quieter arrival.

Frequently asked questions

How long is a consultation?

Most consultations last around 20 to 30 minutes, which gives time for a proper history, examination and discussion. Complex cases may need longer and we will plan for that.

Should I bring anything?

Bring previous records, the names and doses of any medication or supplements, and a photo or video of anything unusual you have seen at home. A list of questions helps too.

Can I get same-day appointments?

We keep space for unwell pets every day. Call or message us and we will find the earliest suitable time.
